Production Synopsis
As an accompaniment to the main show, schools that book Oliver Twist can also book the "Trial of Fagin". This innovative production, exclusive to Simply Dickens, turns the stage into a courtroom where Fagin, the wily old fox, defends his villainous actions calling on Nancy, Dodger, Oliver and even the infamous Bill Sikes as character witnesses. It's up to the jury (the students) to ask the questions and decide Fagin's ultimate fate.
The Trial of Fagin is an excellent vehicle to delve into the background of the characters and to take a closer look at one of the most socially volatile periods in British History.
